Not all workout regimens require lifting weights in order to perform resistance training. We understand that there are alternatives to achieving your objectives aside of just pumping iron. Bear in mind that when you work with a personal fitness specialist here at Active Bodies you are working with a professional that has expertise in human physiology and body mechanics. Thus, you can expect that your exercise program will be a safe, efficient and effective experience.
Here at Active Bodies we believe that the greatest benefit that one can receive from a regular exercise program is improved quality of living. Engaging in a regular workout routine will simply make one feel better in all facets of life. It can make doing rudimentary activities easier like standing up from a sofa to walking a flight of stairs to more fluidity swinging a golf club. And, there’s something to be said of the positive psychological effects of exercising. The after-effects of exercise can be energizing in and of itself. Simply being able to perform many of the daily activities without hindrance can be very rewarding. There’s really no limit to how good one can feel as a result of a regular exercise program.
There is a medical benefit, as well. When combined with a proper eating plan an exercise routine can help to slow or offset many diseases and clinical conditions that might otherwise worsen due to inactivity and poor diet. This is not to say that exercise will prevent these harmful conditions but it may lessen their effects or even the chances of them occurring.
So, if your goal is to simply improve or maintain your sense of well-being we can design our Better Living program to your specifications. Here at Active Bodies you will engage in an exercise routine that is geared toward helping you live longer, healthier and happier.

With an ever increasing senior and active adult community there is an equally growing need for this segment of our population to participate in some form of exercise. As we reach retirement age we significantly lose some of the abilities that we have relied on our whole lives such as balance, stability and overall strength. Here at Active Bodies we offer exercise programs to offset the effects of aging and improve your health and well-being. Our programs can reverse the effects of osteoporosis and improve bone density, as well as, restore your confidence to perform ordinary household tasks like, opening a jar or placing a box on a tall shelf!
If you have a physical limitation or a medical condition we can devise a workout routine to help you with your fitness objectives. Don’t let your condition prevent you from engaging in a fitness program. Here at Active Bodies we have worked with individuals with various physical limitations, including fibromyalgia, RSD (reflexive sympathetic dystrophy), limited mobility, severe arthritis, total joint replacements, organ transplant recipients, sciatica, etc. Whether you wish to elevate your current fitness levels or improve upon your own physical limitations we will create an exercise program to satisfy your needs.
Some medical conditions that require special considerations and care during an exercise routine are diabetes, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) prenatal, metabolic syndrome (obesity), asthma and cardiovascular disease. Sometimes these conditions require a medical clearance from your doctor. Once we’ve established your limitations we can begin the careful process of devising your workout routine.
No matter what your physical history, please feel free to contact us here at Active Bodies to discuss what type of program we can design for you. We will find a way to work with your own abilities to help you become an active body.
This 45-minute session breaks the mold of conventional exercise programs. It is a blend of resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, body stabilization and core development using dynamic body movements to transform the body and maximize calorie burning – during AND for hours after the workout. Any given workout can utilize kettlebells, resistance bands, battle ropes, dumbbells, TRX, sandbags, and whatever else we can find all while employing a timed-interval format.
It’s a challenging workout where all levels of fitness are welcome to participate. If the body is not challenged it will not transform. That said, we do not expect you to be in great shape when you first attend. Heck, that’s why we put this program together in the first place! It’s that kick in the butt you’ve been waiting for. So, work to your own ability and challenge yourself.
Welcome to a fun exercise program that you will love to hate that will improve your fitness and help you change the shape of your body!
