Not all workout regimens require lifting weights in order to perform resistance training. We understand that there are alternatives to achieving your objectives aside of just pumping iron. Bear in mind that when you work with a personal fitness specialist here at Active Bodies you are working with a professional that has expertise in human physiology and body mechanics. Thus, you can expect that your exercise program will be a safe, efficient and effective experience.
This 45-minute session breaks the mold of conventional exercise programs. It is a blend of resistance training, cardiovascular conditioning, body stabilization and core development using dynamic body movements to transform the body and maximize calorie burning – during AND for hours after the workout. Any given workout can utilize kettlebells, resistance bands, battle ropes, dumbbells, TRX, sandbags, and whatever else we can find all while employing a timed-interval format.
It’s a challenging workout where all levels of fitness are welcome to participate. If the body is not challenged it will not transform. That said, we do not expect you to be in great shape when you first attend. Heck, that’s why we put this program together in the first place! It’s that kick in the butt you’ve been waiting for. So, work to your own ability and challenge yourself.

For any fitness/exercise program to be fully effective, a proper nutrition program needs to accompany it. Whether your goal is a world class athlete or you just want to get back in shape, proper nutrition should be a part of your fitness program. Also, we are well experienced working with various eating restrictions, especially diabetes.

We include nutrition counseling and meal planning in your personal training package. We first perform a calorie expenditure assessment on you to determine the appropriate plan of action for your nutrition program and walk you through the process. In addition, you’ll receive a shopping list to eliminate the stress of determining what foods to purchase. The best part: we take the guess work out of your daily eating plan!
What to eat!
The importance of knowing what to eat is paramount! Eating the proper foods is absolutely necessary for the success of any exercise/nutrition regimen. You will also gain an understanding of portion size, an equally important requirement for achieving fitness/wellness success.
When to eat it!
Timing is crucial. Included with your nutrition consultation you will get a description of how often you should eat your meals. If you have an extremely busy lifestyle we can work with you to develop a strategy for meeting your dietary needs and suggest drive-thru healthy options.
